"I will scratch your back, you scratch mine"

This is what came to my mind when I read that the Congress-led UPA government has decided to shower awards on the hallowed tribe of CNN-IBN and NDTV "journalists" who go around under the labels of "leftists / liberals / secularists / civil society members / facilitators of interfaith dialogue" and God knows what else, but in actuality just run Kangaroo courts where judgement is passed upon the political enemies of Congress and Communists as well as the strange species of "Hindoo fundamentalists."

The managing editor of NDTV Barkha Dutt, independent telecaster Vinod Dua who is currently a consultant with NDTV India, as well as CNN-IBN's editor in chief Rajdeep Sardesai have been conferred the Padm Shri award by the Indian government. On January 17, NDTV had conferred its "Leader of the Year" award on the prime minister of India, Manmohan Singh. Is there some kind of award-exchange programme going on? Both the news channels are well-known for their pro-Congress slant and coming down like a ton of bricks on its political rivals, most notably the BJP.

The politician-journalists nexus has become the bane of India, with many journalists and newspapers, especially from the English media, well known for their corruption and low moral standards.
